Back to School CT is here and there are many opportunities to celebrate and have fun getting ready at free community events!

Saturday, 8/1 @ 11:00am – 3:00pm Back to School Community Fest by WISE at Community First School, Hartford

Wednesday, 8/12 @ 3:00 pm: CREC Back to School Block Party, Hartford at CREC Central 21 Van Dyke Avenue. Offers over 1,200 free backpacks with supplies for ages 3–17, plus community resources. Pre-registration is available online.

Saturday, 8/15 @ 10:00 am – 2:00pm: Wilson Gray YMCA Back to School Event

Sunday, 8/16 @ Noon to 3:00pm: Back to School Bash and Backpack Giveaway presented by Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Sunday, 8/23 @ 10:00am-2:00pm: ERfC Annual Backpack Drive, Enfield Town Green. Backpack distribution begins at 11:00 am

Tuesday, August 4 @at 2:00pm: South Windsor Library School Story Days – a fun social hour where kids are encouraged to wear their school gear.

Saturday, 8/15 @ 12:00pm: Back-to-School Supply Drive & Community Fun Day! at Sigourney Park, Hartford

Wednesday, 8/19 @ 2:00pm: Simsbury Public Library Photos Offers $10 back-to-school photo sessions for Pre-K through Grade 6 with a craft included (registration opens August 1).

Sunday, 8/23 @ 1:00pm: West Hartford Back to School Bash at Blue Back Square. Features family-friendly outdoor activities, music, art, SpiderMan appearance and a backpack giveaway to West Hartford families.

Saturday, 8/8 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm: Gear Up For School, Cheshire at Muse Coworking Collective 275 Maple Avenue. Free school supply pouches for students and the first 50 teachers, featuring a DIY pencil pouch decorating station.

Saturday, 8/15 9am – 1pm: Torrington Back to School Supply Event presented by Torrington PAL at Coe Park.

Thursday, 8/20 @ 5:30pm: Urban League of Greater Hartford Beyond the Backpack Community Day at ULGH, 140 Woodland Street, Hartford. Provides student resources, family activities, and back-to-school item distributions

Saturday, 8/1 @ 10-11:30am: Smiles for School, Stamford at the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford to pack backpacks with school supplies, including pens, pencils, and notebooks. All Volunteers are welcome.
