Every year around the 1st weekend in August, the Thomaston Fire Department has an annual carnival with food, games, and rides all weekend and fireworks on Friday night. Here is a Facebook link to the poster:

The Tunxis Hose Company of the Unionville (Farmington) Fire Department also has a carnival the weekend of July 12th. Here is the link to that event:
