Kidtivity Mom, Hope Peckham of Seymour, attended Opening Night of “WORLDS OF ENCHANTMENT” Disney on Ice in Bridgeport to give us a review … it’s a big thumbs up from her family so get your tickets for the next 6 performances now!

The show kicked off with MCs Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck and Goofy as they introduced some of our favorite Disney characters.  Disney on Ice is a multi-media extravaganza! Big screen backdrops, large-scale props and a huge variety of costumes help to keep each story completely engaging. The choreography is delightful and clever with many stunts to bring smiles to all ages.  This year’s show brings you four of your favorite Disney movies: Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Cars, and Frozen.

We started off with Andy going off to college and his lovable toys being sent to Sunnyside.  The attention to detail with characters always gets the audience to ooo and ahh. We even got to see Ariel and her best friend Flounder and sing along with those memorable songs. Who would’ve thought that Lightning McQueen would make an appearance and drive onto the ice!! The characters of Elsa, Anna, Christophe and even Hans were spot on with the music and the dancing!

AND OF COURSE, the songs encourage audience participation so much that even tweens & teens sing along to the contemporary music score! Seeing everyone getting into the show is touching — especially when we saw two older ladies a couple rows ahead alone with no kids themselves singing just truly enjoying the show.

The show is done in two acts with a 15 minute intermission making it very manageable for kids of all ages over 1 hour 45 minutes.

“My favorite part of the show had to be The Little Mermaid!! It took me back to being a young girl singing “Under The Sea.” ~ Hope

“The green soldiers came down from the ceiling on a parachute!!! Lotso Bear’s tail wiggling was soooo funny.”  ~ Aerilyn, 8 years old

“We’ve been coming to Disney On Ice since our daughter was 4 months old!! She’s 6 now and we love coming every year! ~ Another Mom in audience

“Skaters were unbelievable and told their story through the skating!” ~ Delia

We went on so many trips during this wonderful show — Andy went off to college, Ariel was under the sea, our favorite cars characters charged out on the ice to help a special friend, and finally our stars Anna & Elsa showed up!!  The sounds of children and adults all in awe as these characters came out was amazing: Bridgeport has snow finally this season — with special effects of the white stuff during the Frozen performance — all the kids in the audience “ooooeeed” and “awwwwddd” when Olaf came out he was a BIG hit!!

Disney never fails at bringing everyone together.  It seems that Disney shows just touches people, causing them to reminisce and remember good times at past performances. “Every Disney On Ice is different, so I look forward to it every year. Never the same twice!” – A Huge Old Fan
