Spring is here! We’re all familiar with Fall Fairs and Festivals, but did you know that Spring fairs are a thing too? Here in Connecticut, towns everywhere are celebrating the start of Spring with a wide variety of events for kids of all ages. Check out our round up below, and don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter for the latest events in our area!

April 6: Daffodil Day at Dennison Homestead Museum:

Join the Denison Homestead for their annual Daffodil Day Festival. Enjoy the thousands of blooming daffodils, tour the historic Pequotsepos Manor, watch staff demonstrate open-hearth cooking, and take a hike on one of the many trails through 170 acres of woodlands and meadows. Children can participate in a spring craft activity as well as a outdoor scavenger hunt. Visit the Gift Shop for Daffodil merchandise.

April 13: Spring Apple Hunt and Pancake Party at Lyman Orchards:

Hone your apple hunting skills and come out for the Annual Spring Apple Hunt in the Hay Maze at Lyman Orchards on Saturday, April132nd! Feast your way starting at 9am to our Pancake Party on the patio, where you can choose from a variety of delicious pancake toppings!

April 13 & 14: Springfest, New Milford:

Come celebrate the arrival of spring with us at Meadowbrook this year! We will have food, activities fun for everyone in the family, music, plant sales, giveaways and more! This year we will have a number of activities and entertainment for all ages!

April 14: New Haven Cherry Blossom Festival:

Every spring, our beautiful cherry trees blossom in the park. Why not celebrate? Join the Historic Wooster Square Association to commemorate the 50th Anniversary Cherry Blossom Celebration. Kicking off in Wooster Square Park, New Haven, CT on Sunday, April 14th from 12:00 to 4:30 pm. This celebration will feature live music, local food trucks, an engagement zone and much more. This event is fun for the whole family!

April 21: Middletown Daffodil Day at the Wadsworth Mansion:

The Wadsworth Mansion will host their annual spring event: Daffodil Day on Sunday, April 21st, 2023. The event features food trucks, live music, nature exploration, Birds of Prey, Pollinator Pathways, rock painting, and guided tours. Feel free to bring a kite to fly on the estate or simply spend the afternoon viewing the beautiful flowers that let us know spring has arrived.

April 27: Earth Day Fair on the Branford Green:

Swaps are an opportunity to Recyle/Renew/Reuse for Free! Bring your board games, backpacks, jigsaw puzzles, toys and sports equipment — then shop for something to take home. All in excellent condition, please! See you at the Fair!

April 27: CT Wool, Sheep, and Fiber Festival:

Live and In Person! Parking is Free. Admission is $10/person

April 8-12: Earth Week at the Dinosaur Place: 

Tons of activities – live animals, science demos, face painting, and so much more!

May 4&5: Meriden Daffodil Festival:

Join us for the Meriden Daffodil Festival – Meriden’s largest and most colorful festival! With food, crafts, music, fireworks, amusements, and a spectacular parade, the Meriden Daffodil Festival is a springtime funfest for all! The Daffodil Festival began in 1978 as a community event, and today is one of Connecticut’s favorite annual celebrations, held during the last weekend in April each year.

May 4&5 May Market at the Hillstead Museum

May Market, HIll-Stead’s much-anticipated annual event supports the museum’s 152 acres of beautiful gardens, grounds, and trails. May Market is produced with enormous support by the Hill-Steaders, volunteer ambassadors of Hill-Stead, who have supported the museum with fundraising and outreach initiatives for over 30 years. This is one of their largest events.

May 11-12: Greenfield Hill Church Dogwood Festival

May 11-12: Springfest at Brown’s Harvest

Our season opening event! Join us in celebrating spring’s arrival.

May 14: Mark Twain Library Annual Frog Frolic

May 18-June 30: Robin Hood’s Faire:

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind experience at Robin Hood’s Medieval Faire, where enchantment and excitement abound! Be transported to a bygone era filled with awe-inspiring performances, scrumptious delicacies, and a vast selection of artisan goods

You do not want to miss this event! Davis Park will be blooming with activities. Bring the whole family, your friends, and the neighbors too. There is no cost to attend.

Month of April: Pick Your Own Daffodils at Halfinger Farms

Enjoy a spring outing, come pick your own daffodils at our daffodil farm, Dancing Daffodils! Call 860-345-4609 for daily picking updates. Our greenhouses are also open in April. We grow beautiful spring plants including pansies, violas, lettuce gardens, spring greens and perennials. Daffodil picking and greenhouse exploring make for the perfect spring adventure!

Month of April: Colorblends House and Spring Garden in Bridgeport: 

Whether you want to brighten your front walk, backyard or vegetable garden, whether you want to plant 200 bulbs or 2000, the COLORBLENDS spring garden will show you how to create a great spring display. The plantings exhibit the range of choices in spring-flowering bulbs and give ideas on where to plant them and how to maintain a bulb display year after year.

Year Round: Visit the Animals at Northwest Park

Spring animals are out- visit them or head for a hike at Windsor’s beautiful Northwest Park!
