Northwest Park and Nature Center, Windsor*

This is one of the most BEAUTIFUL fall areas in the state- stop by on a weekend, and you’ll notice many local photographers taking family fall photos! Plus, the main trails are rugged, but still stroller friendly!

They also have a nature center, playground, animal barns- and it is ALL FREE!

Farmington Canal State Park Trail, Hamden*

If you’re looking for miles of paved path through the woods, this is the spot for you. The Farmington Canal Trail takes you past tons of trees, fall foliage and more!

It has a pretty cool history, too. Per DEEP:

“The Farmington Canal State Park Trail in Cheshire and Hamden forms a portion of the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail which traverses Connecticut, north to south, from Suffield to New Haven. The State Park Trail follows the path of the Farmington Canal which served the area from 1828 to 1847.”

Schreeder Pond and Old Mill Pond, Killingworth*

This adorable walk takes you through Chatfield Hollow State Park, which is a very cool spot. Take a hike in search of caves, explore rocks, or enjoy a walk around the pond. The trees have incredible pops of color during the fall. Plus, it’s a BEAUTIFUL stroller friendly spot!

Per All Trails:

“The trail surface is paved asphalt or a wooden bridge with railings. It is typically at least 12 feet wide. The whole trail is estimated to be in the mostly gentle (5% or less) grade category.”

Machimoodus State Park, East Haddam*

Machimoodus State Park in East Haddam features handicapped accessible ponds. It is an incredible spot to view wildlife of all kinds- and so beautiful in the fall!

Earthplace, Westport*

Earthplace is working hard to make sure its programs and portions of the grounds are easily accessible to all. Meadow Grass trail is full accessible and features a storywalk. It’s also absolutely beautiful there with tons of wildlife.

Grounds are free of charge, fee for some programs and the main building.

West Hartford Reservoirs (and Reservoir 6)*

Some really fantastic walking trails, accessible picnic groves, and more. Great spot to go for a stroll that the whole family can participate in!
