This is National Child Passenger Safety Week September 15 – 21 and this Saturday. 9/21 is National Seat Check.
Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old. Many times deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters, and seat belts.
We learned quite a bit from Safe Kids Connecticut which is a program of the Injury Prevention Center at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center dedicated to reducing preventable injuries and death among Connecticut’s children. Their website offers an up-to-date list of car seat check locations for Saturday as well as the Connecticut’s Car Seat and Booster Seat Law.
