It’s nearly the 25th of July, which means that it is officially Christmas in July!

Brown’s Harvest is offering a pretty epic Christmas in July celebration- get the details here.

Then, get into the spirit with one of our favorite activities:

  1. Annual Light Walk at Hay Burr Inn:
    1. Head to Hay Burr Inn Equine Rescue & Sanctuary in Plainfield on July 29th from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm for a lighted winter wonderland! This event supports the care of donkeys and horses. 
  2. New London’s Christmas in July Lighted Boat Parade:
    1. Celebrate Christmas in July with a lighted boat parade at 8pm on July 29th off of the New London Waterfront Park. The Thames River Water Taxi will lead the Parade with Santa Claus.
  3. Christmas in July Elf Interactive Movie Experience at the Fairfield Public Library
    1.  Head to the Fairfield Public Library for crafts and Elf Themed Fun on July 25 from 6-7:45. Free, but advanced is registration required. 
  4. Surfin’ Santa’s Christmas In July 5k & Holiday Stroll
    1. Located in the scenic Stratford neighborhood of Lordship on Sunday, July 30th at 8:30 AM for the Surfside Hotel Surfin’ Santa’s Christmas in July 5K and Holiday Stroll to benefit St Vincent’s Swim Across the Sound.
  5. Christmas in July Craft Fair at the Shoreline Trolley Museum:
    1. Visit the Shore Line Trolley Museum on Saturday, July 29 from 10am-4pm for the annual Christmas In July Craft Fair. Get an early start on holiday shopping featuring local crafters and artisans, you’ll be sure to find that perfect gift for yourself or that special someone on your holiday
  6. Christmas in July Food Drive at Adams Market in Thompson:
    1. Acts of Kindness are always in at Christmatime (year round too!). Adam’s Market hosts a food drive- look out for Santa!
  7. Plan your Holiday Shows and Events:
    1. Save the dates for some of our favorite holiday traditions, like:
      1. Jorgensen’s Holiday Pops
      2. Glow Hartford
      3. Magic of Lights, East Hartford
      4. Waterbury’s Palace Theater Holiday Calendar
  8. Make Christmas Crafts/Gifts:
    1. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE being able to do messy crafts in the summer time. Mostly because we can do lots of them outside, which minimizes clean up. Looking for craft ideas? Check our Pinterest page for fun things like Baby Shark Paper Craft or these DIY Sno Cone Ornaments
  9. Go Tubing at Powder Ridge:
    1. Did you know you can go Tubing in the summer at Powder Ridge? Fun way to cool off if you are dreaming of winter days.
  10. Build a sandy “snow” man
    1. Snow men may be out of the question, but you can always head to one of our favorite beaches or swimming spots to build a sand man (but not the creepy kind!)
