Veterans Day is next Friday, November 11. Since it is a local, state and federal holiday meaning municipal offices and the U.S. Postal Service are closed as are most banks consider these Free Veterans Day Events in CT to enjoy time off together around the state:

New England Air Museum presents its annual Veterans Day Tribute to honor retired and active military. Please bring donations of “Personal Care” items such as disposable razors, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, eye drops, etc., will be collected to be donated to active military serving overseas. *Veteran visitors are free for this event; active duty military will receive a 20% discount on admission, and servicemen and women in uniform will be admitted free of charge.* 

CT Veterans Day Parade celebrates its 17th year in downtown Hartford with a new parade route.

Connecticut Science Center is open for Veterans Day to honor those who have served us. FREE General Admission for retired, reserve, veteran, and active duty military personnel all day; their family members will enjoy 50% off, too. Please bring proof of service.

Friendly’s Restaurants says “Our turn to Serve” with a free meal for all those who have served or are currently serving in the military a FREE meal this Veterans Day: for breakfast, the Big-Two-Do® Breakfast with a fresh cup of coffee, and for lunch or dinner, the All-American Burger with fries and a drink. Simply show your military ID or honorable discharge card!

Free Tours for Veterans & Active Duty Military at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center in Hartford.
