Veterans Day always falls on November 11 (can you tell us why?) and this year it is a Monday making it a nice long holiday weekend for families to enjoy together. Military History for Kids at the Connecticut Historical Society, Hartford
Honoring of Native Veterans Powwow at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center. Experience the splendor and diversity of Native artists as they express themselves through their traditional arts, regalia, song and dance to honor Native Nations and their veterans on Saturday.
From here drive down to Mystic Seaport for Charles W. Morgan Day in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the arrival of the 1841 wooden whaleship, the Charles W. Morgan to Mystic, the Seaport is offering FREE admission to all visitors for the day. Explore the 19th-century village, walk through historic exhibits, and of course go on board the Morgan. There will be special interpretative talks and demonstrations throughout the day. While in the area, check out Mystic Restaurant Week!
