Things to Do with Kids in Heat! We’ll help direct you to air-conditioned indoor activities:
Ice skating indoors! Stay cool Friday nights at Veterans Memorial Skating Rink or any rink around the state. Don’t forget about roller skates at Ron-A-Roll who also has a Friday evening public skate.
Bounce houses are air conditioned, too so head to Jump-n-Jammin and tell them you are a “Kidtivity parent”! Open Jump until 8 p.m. on Fridays or check the schedule. Tip: their promotions are updated on Facebook and Twitter.
Find an indoor swimming pool for fun, wet exercise! The CT towns of Bristol, Derby, Manchester, Orange, Woodbridge have public pools, to name a few. Most YMCAs have indoor pools for members and it can be a great family value! As well as some private facilities that are open to non residents like Cornerstones Aquatic Center in West Hartford, Swim Center at Westminster School, Center Pool, Ridgefield or Flood Pool, Stratford. Many hotels like Hilton, Homewood Suites welcome visitors.
Visit a CT museum or see “Flying Monsters” IMAX 3D movie at the Connecticut Science Center, that engages ALL ages.
Set off to the CT shoreline and explore another world on a slow stroll around Mystic Seaport.
