Celebrating International Day of Peace! EVERY year on September 21st Peace Day can be honored with Pinwheels for Peace!   Pinwheels for Peace is a wonderful project for CT kids of all ages and families together to show our wishes around the world! It is a visual public statement about peace.  Schools and Girl Scout troops . . . we have participated in both!  How about your front lawn or building corner?

Imagine – visualize “millions of pinwheels spinning in the wind – pinwheels in the United States, Great Britain, South America, Australia, the Middle East, Canada,  Africa, Europe and Asia;  pinwheels all over the world! – big pinwheels, small pinwheels;  pinwheels of all  shapes and sizes – colorful pinwheels, decorated with drawings, paintings, collages, photographs  – pinwheels with words of peace and harmony written on them – fields of pinwheels, pinwheels along roadsides, in schoolyards, in parks, pinwheels EVERYWHERE!”

Check out the world map online to see where we can find pinwheel locations in CT.  Do it yourself – make a pinwheele using the template online.

In today’s world, peace needs to be more than just a word.
