Last night, I found the first few fireflies in our backyard. This means that Firefly Season is here!
Firefly Facts
Fireflies are amazing. Here are some fun facts we’ve been learning about fireflies, courtesy of Firefly.org:
- Fireflies talk to each other with light.
- Fireflies produce “cold light-” and it’s incredibly energy efficient!
- Firefly eggs glow.
- Adult fireflies only live for about 3 weeks.
- Fireflies are found on every continent- except Antarctica!
