Veterans Day Tribute to Veterans and Active Military

The New England Air Museum will hold its annual Veterans Day Tribute to Veterans and Active Military event when visitors will have the opportunity to meet military veterans of military conflicts. Included in the program will be WWI and WWII re-enactors and at 1:00pm Vincent W. Purple, a WWII B-17 pilot from the 8th Air Force, will share his story of the bombing raid on Berlin on February 3, 1945. Bill was the lead aircraft on this raid.Visitors are encouraged to bring new personal hygiene products that will be donated to a local veterans’ home. An area will be set aside for children to make holiday cards for local veterans.
Personal care items such as disposable razors, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, eye drops, etc., will be collected to be donated to active military serving overseas.
Veteran visitors are free for this event; active duty military will receive a 20% discount on admission, and servicemen and women in uniform will be admitted free of charge.
The New England Air Museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day. The museum is closed on Mondays during the winter season with the exception of holidays and during school vacation weeks. Admission is $12.50 for ages 12 and up, $11.50 for seniors 65 and up and $7.00 for ages 4 to 11. New England Air Museum members and children under 3 are admitted free.
