Celebrate National Aviation Day & Open Cockpit at New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks Connecticut. Established by President Roosevelt in 1939 to commemorate the anniversary of Orville Wright’s birthday, this year’s event celebrates over one hundred years of New England aviation history. Join us for activities for children, families, and aviation enthusiasts of all ages.
The program includes our popular Open Cockpit experiences in a variety of aircraft will be open for visitors including a WWII era fighter, helicopters and jet aircraft.
We will also offer hands-on Build & Fly Challenge; interactive Flight Science Demonstrations; virtual flight simulators; and much more.
The Museum and the Wings ‘n Things Gift Shop will remain open until 5:00 p.m. Sneakers or rubber-soled shoes are recommended.
