LEGO's, Trains, Canal Boats & More

February 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

$3 – $6
LEGO's, Trains, Canal Boats & More

Please join us on Saturday, February 3, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for LEGO’s, Trains, Canal Boats & More, a special family play morning at Windsor Historical Society. Get out of the house and make new friends while your kids enjoy our train table or build something spectacular with Legos, building blocks and Fisher Price toys.
For a taste of colonial life, “milk” Flavia the cow, don colonial costumes and “cook” up a feast! In our Windsor history galleries, Jim Trocchi will power up our working model of the Windsor Locks Canal to demonstrate how boats ascended and descended through the locks for over 100 years.
At 10 a.m., Bob Bell will let kids in on some train secrets including whistle codes then pass out train whistles and engineer hats to take home. All in all, a delightful three ring circus!
$6 adults, $5 seniors, $4 children, $3 members, or $12 per family. We won’t turn anyone away for lack of funds but these modest fees help us cover our costs.
LEGO’s, Trains, Canal Boats & More snow date February 4, 2 PM – 4 PM
The Windsor Historical Society Museum is located in the historic “Hembree House”, situated across the street from a majestic row of Cypress trees at 9225 Foxwood Drive. The trees once lined the driveway to the Cunningham Ranch and were planted by Clara Hembree’s father, James McClelland, on the occasion of her birth in 1872. Clara Hembree’s grandfather, Robert Cunningham settled the homestead in the early 1850s. The property eventually passed to his granddaughters, Clara and Ella.
