Hot Air Balloon Flight on the Farm

Gather the whole family as Hot Air Balloons take flight at Lyman Orchards all weekend long! Enjoy the beautiful balloon colors and a unique experience for all. This event is sponsored by GasWorks Propane in Wallingford. Free admission!

Hot Air Balloon Glow: Friday, July 7th, 7:00pm-9:00pm

Plan your evening at the Lyman Orchards Golf Club Meadow and enjoy a Hot Air Balloon Glow at dusk, complete with music, face painting, a strolling magician, and treats! BYO blankets and chairs and watch this whole magical event take place! (No outside food/alcohol permitted)

5:00pm – 8:00pm: Arrive early at 1741 Pub & Grill to enjoy dinner and drinks, with live music from Violet Willows under the Golf Tent. Dinner reservations are strongly encouraged. Call 860-349-6033 or click here.

7:00pm: Lyman Orchards Golf Course Meadow – Catch the vibe with music from Joe Monthei along with our strolling magician, The Magic of Christopher, providing free entertainment. Face Painting by Lara and concessions from Lyman Orchards will be available for purchase.

7:30pm – 8:00pm*: Balloonists arrival and set up.

8:45pm – 9:00pm*: Hot Air Balloon Glow begins. In the event of windy weather, this will change to a Candle Glow in the baskets only. 

9:00pm*: Event concludes

Location: Lyman Orchards Golf Club Meadow.  All cars must park at The Lyman Orchards Golf Club/1741 Pub & Grill, 70 Lyman Rd, Middlefield, and enter through the Route 157/Lyman Road entrance. The entrance to Lyman Road/Route 147 will be closed for the safety of attendees. Overflow parking will be at the Apple Barrel Farm Market, 32 Reeds Gap Rd, Middlefield.

Visit us bright and early at the Apple Barrel Farm Market for a hot air balloon flight on the farm! Lyman Orchards bakery items, coffee and breakfast sandwiches will be available for purchase.

4:45am – 5:15am: Arrival

5:30am – 6:00am: Hot Air Balloon Flights

Please Note:

• NO DRONES. Drones are extremely dangerous to balloons
• Hot Air Balloon rides and tethering are not available during the events.
• This event is entirely weather dependent; winds greater than 3-5mph will keep the balloons grounded. 
• Rain cancels the event entirely.
• Pets are not allowed.
• Lyman Road will be closed at the entrance of Route 147 (The Lyman Homestead entrance) during the events.
