The Knights of Columbus Museum hosts their Free Annual Christmastime Family Day on Sunday, December 29 which is open to the public featuring children’s activitie, live Christmas music and refreshments.
This year the musem’s celebration theme is “Christmas in Europe” and customs and traditions of the European regions will be showcased. Visit the website to learn dates of lectures and demonstrations. One of the most popular annual displays is The Festival of Trees which features 24 Christmas trees that have been transformed by handmade ornaments and decorated by students. Schools are chosen by lottery to decorate the trees: students make their ornaments, trim, garland, tree toppers and skirts in class, then, the week after Thanksgiving, five to six schools go to the museum each day to decorate the trees, receive a tour of the museum and meet other students from around the state.
