Family Program: Hartford Symphony Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo

June 3, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Help us welcome the Hartford Symphony Orchestra when they visit the CHS for a special Free First Saturday! Kids will have a blast playing at the HSO Instrument Petting Zoo, trying out dozens of musical instruments from the violin and the saxophone to the tuba and the glockenspiel. Come learn how playing a musical instrument is a whole-body experience; you’ll feel each instrument’s vibrations humming differently from your head to your toes! Petting Zoo sessions will be offered at 10:30, 11:00, and 11:45, and each session will last approximately 25 minutes. From 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, there will also be a noisemaker craft available for children to make in the auditorium lobby.
This program is free and open to the public, and great for ages 4 and up. Please note that this program will be presented with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. In order to best accommodate our visitors, please email Corinne Swanson at corinne_swanson@chs.org if you need this accommodation. This program is presented in conjunction with our exhibit Language, Culture, Community: 200 Years of Impact by the American School for the Deaf. For more information, call (860) 236-5621 x222 or email corinne_swanson@chs.org.
