BrightStart™ is for parents and other caregivers of young children (prenatal to 4 years old) living in Manchester, CT. BrightStart™ runs twice per year in the Spring and Fall. Please call us at 860.375.0121 or e-mail us at info@bhf.org if you have any questions. You can follow this link to subscribe to our BrightStart e-mail list or to apply for our next workshop.
The purpose of BrightStart™ is to equip you, as a parent, to help your child acquire language while enhancing their emotional and physical wellbeing. In addition to what you learn, we provide meals and some material resources for you and your child, examples of these resources are: age-appropriate books, toys, and safety items. During the morning your infant to 8-year-old children will engage in educational play with our trained and dedicated staff.
The 8-Week BrightStart™ has a consistent structure each week while the topics change. Running throughout each topic will be an emphasis on the ABCD’s of Discipline. A is for Attention, B is for Bonding, C is for Communication, and D is for Diet. The ABCD’s are the building blocks every baby needs for healthy development. Parents will learn about brain development and how you can nurture your child’s growth and future success. During this course you will learn how to increase your child’s attention span, develop strong emotional attachments, and boost your child’s verbal skills and physical health. Everything about BrightStart™ is geared to help you prepare your baby for the brightest start possible!
