We also went ahead and created some sample itineraries for April Break (channeling our inner travel agents!) No matter what, there’s TONS of ideas to help you plan a fun week ahead!
See the Eclipse:
April 8th brings a partial solar eclipse to our neck of the woods. We’re not in the path of totality, but we’re about 90% of the way there.
We’ve got 50+ Viewing Spots here– and some favorites down below!
- Connecticut Science Center: Eclipse Viewing Party included with Admission! They’ll have glasses for anyone who buys tickets in advance, plus tons of activities!
- Solar Eclipse Viewing with CT DEEP at Harkness Memorial State Park: Glasses, Solar Telescopes, and fun in the sun (or darkness!)
- Mystic Seaport is offering free eclipse kits, fun at the Planetarium, and more activities included with admission!
- Head to Lyman Orchards and make eclipse chalk art while you watch the real thing- glasses available to the first 70 people!

Spring flowers are FINALLY starting to bloom- and there are a bunch of places to enjoy them!
- Pick your own Daffodils in April at Halfinger Farms!
- Elizabeth Park is the perfect place to play on the playground
- Hillstead Museum in Farmington offers some gorgeous gardens
- Visit the Colorblends in Bridgeport for an incredible display of color as snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils, tulips and other spring-flowering bulbs come into bloom.
- Wicked Tulips in Preston will be in bloom in late April
- Wickham Park opens on April 4– and the gardens will only continue to get more beautiful throughout the season!
