National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week honors the individuals who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in their communities. In light of COVID-19, we believe that now, more than ever, is the time to recognize people for their current and longtime support of our communities. As part of Global Volunteer Month, National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to shine a light on the people and causes that inspire us to serve, recognizing and thanking volunteers who lend their time, talent and voice to make a difference in their communities.
It is a time to celebrate people doing extraordinary things through service. Sponsored by Points of Light—established in 1974, National Volunteer Week focuses national attention on the impact and power of volunteerism and service as an integral aspect of our civic leadership. The week draws the support and endorsement of the president and Congress, governors, mayors and municipal leaders, as well as corporate and community groups across the country. This is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. BE A #LOCALLIGHT DURING GLOBAL VOLUNTEER MONTH
