Where can you find adventure, explore a new world, challenge yourself and learn something, for every age — a museum! Museums For Families CT are one of our favorite outings so we want to share our suggestions:
Barnum Museum, Bridgeport called Imagination Station. Inside the backpack are activities that connect to artifacts and allow families to revisit with the past, including a set of binoculars to use to search for the answers to the many clues. From Victorian dress-up to a window wheel project and I-Spy booklets, visitors will enjoy this unique new way to tour the gallery. Each visitor from August 14 through 30 will also be able design and take home their own circus jigsaw puzzle.
New England Air Museum, Windsor Locks offers hands-on activities every day – they are listed on our Event Calendar!
The Science Center in Hartford changes up exhibits all the time to keep us interested — right now you need to check out the latest Leonardo de Vinci: Machines in Motion.
We’ve got more ideas highlighted in a separate post Let’s Move Museums in CT (those that have physical activity approved by First Lady Michelle Obama’s campaign)!
And don’t forget the Dino Trail i you love dinosaurs, the Passport will give you admission to Connecticut’s top dino-themed attractions.
We discovered a great blog called “CT Museum Quest” created by a dad who likes to explore CT — let’s work together to visit all the destinations available to us and direct each other. Please share your experiences on Museums For Families CT in the comments!
