We’re beginning a new series: Fundraiser Fridays! Here at Kidtivity.com, we love to share free and low-cost activities for families. However, these activities only exist because of the nonprofits and community organizations who run them. Without generous donations, they simply wouldn’t be possible.
We want to honor the organizations that make communities great. Each Friday, we’ll be featuring an organization (or group of organizations!) that is working hard to make a difference.
Please consider supporting these organizations financially by donating, or show your gratitude by writing cards/emails/ comments on their pages. Thank you for your support.
Chill for Change: Camp Ingersoll
On Saturday, February 8th YMCA Camp Ingersoll will be hosting our 11th Annual Chill For Change. All funds raised by our chillers (those who jump into Jobs Pond) go directly to sending kids to camp!If you believe in the life-changing impact Camp Ingersoll has on our campers we invite you to join us.
Jumpers can sign up as individuals or join a team, and have to raise at least $100 and be 14 yrs or older. Children under 18 years of age must have a Parent or Guardian sign their waiver and be present at the event. If jumping is not for you this year, please consider supporting one of our brave and passionate “Chillers”! Thank you so much for your support in changing lives at YMCA Camp Ingersoll!
I’ll personally be jumping into the water because I know how wonderful this camp is for kids!

California Wildfires:
We’ve all seen the news: LA County has been devastated by some horrific wildfires. It’s hard to know how to help from thousands of miles away, but I’ve been collecting lists of places that have “boots on the ground-” as well as some organizations here in CT who are working to send resources. For more information on organizations working round the clock to support those impacted, read our article here.
