Story Time with Local Author of “The Lucky Husky”

A new children’s book is putting paws to paper and giving Connecticut families a heartwarming way to pass down Husky pride.
The Lucky Husky is an illustrated story based on the University of Connecticut’s iconic mascot and it’s already generating buzz among alumni, educators, and young readers.
Written by Bethany O’Brien, a Connecticut native and proud UConn alum, the book follows the spirited husky, Jonathan as he helps the basketball team defend their championship title and bring in another win with a little luck from a campus superstition. Aimed at children ages 3–10, the story blends school spirit with timeless themes of teamwork, hard work, and determination, something our UConn athletes emulate every time they’re on the court.
Visit RJ Julia to listen to a live reading of the story, purchase a book and get it signed by the author, and enjoy crafts and photo opportunities with Jonathan the Husky himself!
The Story Time with Local Author of “The Lucky Husky” is a family-friendly event is perfect for young readers, UConn fans, and anyone who loves a good dose of school spirit and creativity.
