Celebrate summer, community, and the rich legacy of Nook Farm at this free outdoor gathering for all ages!
Join the Stowe Center for Literary Activism, the Asylum Hill Neighborhood Association, and the Mark Twain House & Museum for an afternoon of fun, connection, and discovery. Enjoy lawn games, crafts, hands-on activities, complimentary food, and opportunities to meet local social justice organizations serving our community.
Guests can also explore two of Connecticut’s most treasured literary landmarks with free station tours of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and the Mark Twain House.
Held as part of the 22nd Annual Connecticut Open House Day, this year’s celebration honors the enduring legacies of Harriet Beecher Stowe and Josiah Henson, whose birthdays fall near this annual event. We’ll also commemorate the 150th anniversary of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, alongside Harriet’s 215th birthday and Josiah’s 237th birthday—a unique convergence of literary and activist history.
