The Connecticut Dance Alliance will be hosting its MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY OF DANCE again at CREC’s Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, 15 Vernon Street, Hartford, CT.
The annual event honors the teachings and legacy of Dr. King as well as the abundant African American contributions to the world of dance. This year we celebrate the black dancers from communities around Connecticut with classes in Afro-Caribbean, stilt walking, popping, Horton technique and capoeira. The event also focuses on elements of collaboration, history and educating the participants on the experiences of people of color in the dance world.
