June 6: Fish with CARE (Ages 6+), 5-7:30 PM, Sunset Pond
Essex Library is proud to partner with the DEEP Fisheries Division – Connecticut Aquatic Resources
Education (CARE) program to host a “FISH with CARE” Event at Sunset Pond (West Ave, Essex) on June 6
from 5- 7:30PM.
Come join expert fishing instructors and learn how to get started fishing safely, legally, and successfully!
Make memories with your family and friends, enjoy the outdoors and maybe bring home dinner.
The CARE program supplies all bait, tackle, and instruction.
A Conservation Identification Number is required for registration. The event is offered free-of-charge,
but space is limited to 20 participants, so early sign-up is encouraged. Minimum age to participate is 6
years old, and all children are required to have a parent/guardian participate alongside them
.
All participants ages 16 and above MUST have a valid 2023 inland fishing license. Anglers under 16 are
encouraged to register for a free Youth Fishing Passport.
Participants should learn the basics of fishing by completing the CARE program’s self-paced Let’s Go
Fishing / Vamos de Pescar online course prior to attending the FISH with CARE event.
