Zoom into winter with a full slate of exciting school vacation week activities for the whole family – explore three giant hangars filled with over sixty historic aircraft and experience the wonders of flight with daily activities including:

Lunar Landscape Painting

Learn about the surface of the moon by making a mini lunar landscape to take home. This activity involves water soluble paint, so please dress for mess!
1st Annual LEGO Brick Aircraft Contest
Friday, December 27, 2019
Children ages 3-14 are invited to construct an imaginary aircraft using the museum’s collection of LEGO bricks. Winners will be awarded prizes in three age categories, and participants need not be present to win.
Marshmallow Constellations

Discover the history and science of constellations by building (and eating!) mini-marshmallow constellations of your own.
Straw Rocket Challenge

Model Airplane Workshop & Demonstrations
Monday, December 30,2019
Build and fly balsa wood airplanes with help from our team. This workshop is designed for visitors ages 3 and older, and there is a $5.00 cost per model kit. Model builders will also give aircraft flight demonstrations throughout the day.
These activites will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and are included with general admission unless otherwise noted. Events and activities are subject to change. You can download a flyer HERE.
Please note the Museum will be closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2019 and New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2020. We will also be closing at 3:00 p.m. on both Christmas Eve, December 24, 2019, and New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019.
