Free Family Outdoor Winter Festival

CT’s Department of Energy & Environmental Protection annual Free Family Outdoor Winter Festival provides fun for the entire family with many exciting and fun winter activities taking place from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Family Fun Outside – children and adults can spend time together outdoors and try ice fishing (ice dependent), CARE Trailer, Story-time by the bonfire with CT Author Janet Lawler, Reach Your Summit, Search and Rescue Dogs, CT Siberian Husky Club Demo, Hikes, Ice Sculptures, City of Torrington Fire and Police, CT Horse Council, Girl Scouts of CT, Environmental Learning Centers of CT, White Memorial Conservation Center, Fit Together NW CT, Torrington Trails Network and Winstead Trails, Indian Valley YMCA, Drakeville Volunteer Fire Department, IAIS Native American Museum and Research Center, DEEP State Parks Education & Outreach, marshmallow roasting, snowshoeing, animal furs and pelts, and much more!

Boy Scouts will be selling food.

Parking: There will be on-site parking at Burr Pond State Park in Torrington and at the Burr Pond Boat Launch Ramp. There will also be overflow parking at the Burrville Fire Training School located on Burr Mountain Road in Torrington as well as at RBC Bearings Aircraft Products inc. located at 2788 Winsted Road in Torrington. There will be 2, 25-passenger shuttles (one of which is handicapped accessible) running between the event and these parking locations throughout the day dropping off and picking up participants. Please note that the last shuttle leaves Burr Pond at 3:15 pm.

Dress Warm:  Make sure to dress in layers and wear proper boots or footwear. Be prepared to have a great day outside filled with FREE Winter Fun and Activities at Free Family Outdoor Winter Festival.
