Dress Boutique for Teenage Girls to Receive Free Gowns offers free dresses for kids in need

Thanks to significant donations from members of the community and our nonprofit partner, Person to Person, we will be offering a free, dignified boutique shopping experience to local children looking for special occasion outfits. Young girls and boys and teenagers from low-income families have been invited to register and shop at the event. At least 300 children and teens are expected to be at the Handled with Care Boutique. As in previous years, the event will be held at the Boys & Girls Club, Yerwood Unit on Fairfield Avenue in Stamford.

As they walk into the “boutique”, shoppers will be invited to make a name badge with their name and a positive affirmation. True to the mission of Kids Helping Kids, we hope that our guest shoppers will recognize their inherent value and see themselves as leaders. This unique idea was started several years ago by the KHK planning committee members, who felt it was important to start the event with an empowering activity. In addition, there will be a beautiful photo wall and a professional photographer to capture each shopper’s smile while wearing his/her new outfit!

Kids Helping Kids is currently collecting new and gently used everyday dresses and suits for this years event through April 19th. If you would like to donate dress wear or volunteer to help at the event, please visit our website to register.
