Owner + chief designer, Rachel DeCavage desires to truly lower the carbon footprint of the cinder + salt product so she controls every aspect of its creation in an effort to serve folks with the same passion for eco-friendly, sustainable, transparent products. She calls it “low impact printing” — unlike most clothing printed designs the ink isn’t toxic to our planet! This is an alternative to standard textile printing which relies on harmful chemical ingredients and high-impact processes.
The fabric of the Girls line shirts is so comfy! Check out these fun but stylish ties for boys (school concerts, religious ceremonies, graduations). For moms a new dolman sleeve shirt will be introduced very soon but in the meantime peruse the current designs.
The name, Cinder + Salt, was inspired by the residue of a weekend well spent; the scent of campfire on your clothes and the taste of salt water on your skin. Through Rachel’s hand drawn designs, she always aims to capture her appreciation for nature, whole living and authenticity. Social enterprise is a guiding principal behind Cinder + Salt and is committed to donating 1% of every sale to Evergreen Design Co. EDC is a 501c3 nonprofit organization Rachel founded in 2011. Their mission is to educate the community on, provide means to and promote a sustainable way of life through a focus on design.
