Great vibrations on and off the course highlight the 2013 Ahmad Rashad Celebrity Classic, July 28th-30th 2013 at Mohegan Sun. NFL All-Pro, Emmy Award-winning sportscaster and College Football Hall of Famer Ahmad Rashad hosts the 2013 Ahmad Rashad Celebrity Classic. More than 40 stars of sports and entertainment will participate. The event includes the Celebrity Team Championship open to spectators on July 30th and the legendary The Beach Boys, July 28th in the Mohegan Sun Arena.
“Together with Ahmad Rashad we’re committed to creating a world-class celebrity golf and charity event that brings together many of the best celebrity players in golf,” said Ray Pineault, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Mohegan Sun. Since its inception, the Ahmad Rashad Celebrity Classic has raised more than $500,000 for charity. This year, proceeds from the event will benefit The REACH Foundation. “It’s all about building a first-class, all-star event that works for the players, charities and the fans in New England,” said Rashad. “I’m am very excited to announce The REACH Foundation will be our official charity.
The Beach Boys iconic song list includes “I Get Around”, “California Girls”, “Fun, Fun, Fun”, “Kokomo”, “Surfin’ USA”, “Help Me, Rhonda”, “409”, “Good Vibrations” and more. The Beach Boys were elected to the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. “The REACH Foundation is thrilled to team up with the Ahmad Rashad Celebrity Classic, its sponsors and Mohegan Sun,” said Mark Wilson, President, The REACH Foundation. “Together this event will help in the REACH Concert Series mission of Saving Lives…Changing Lives…Through Music!”
