CELEBRATE CONNECTICUT’S HISTORIC GARDENS DAY
Come to the Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby, Connecticut on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 12pm to 4pm to celebrate the 19th Annual Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day. The Osborne Homestead Museum, one of fifteen members of the prestigious Connecticut’s Historic Gardens, will provide self-guided and docent-led tours of the museum and its gardens. After strolling through the gardens, guests can tour the historic house museum where they will learn about Frances Osborne Kellogg’s love of flowers and land conservation
From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, visit the Kellogg Environmental Center for an open reception to meet the artist, Agnus Wnuk, winner of this year’s Connecticut’s Historic Garden Day poster featuring the Osborne Homestead Museum. A collection of her original works of garden and floral images, including the painting of the Museum, will be on display in the Center. Refreshments will be provided for this event. The display of Agnes’s work is open for viewing Tuesday through Sunday in June during operating hours.
Connecticut’s Historic Gardens increases the awareness of the state’s unique historic sites and gardens and offers visitors an opportunity to explore a variety of historic garden styles. The Osborne Homestead Museum, a facility of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s State Parks & Public Outreach Division, is open for free docent-led and self-guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue off Rte. 34 in Derby, CT. The Kellogg Environmental Center, a facility of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s State Parks & Public Outreach Division, is open 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
