Friday Nov 22, 7 PM- 8:45 PM: DJ Skate Nights (Veteran Memorial Skating Rink, West Hartford, CT)

Go Ice skating for all ages at DJ Skate Nights with the hottest tunes playing!  Veterans Memorial Skating Rink is a friendly, clean, safe, and comfortable environment for everyone and currently offers the most public skating sessions in the area.

Rental skates available at an additional charge of $4.00

Fridays, Nov 8-Aug 14, 9:30 AM-11 AM: Playful Learners Playgroup at Imagine Nation (Bristol, CT)

Families with children ages 36 months and under are invited to the weekly Playful Learners Playgroup at Imagine Nation!

Participants receive half-price admission and may enjoy access to all museum studios.

Playful Learners Playgroup begins with gross motor free play in Imagine Nation’s Kinetic Studio from 9:30-10:30am. An age-appropriate staff-facilitated workshop is held at 10:30am

Admission for Playful Learners Playgroup is $5.00 per person, Imagine Nation Members and children under one are FREE!

Friday, Nov 22, 6 PM-7:30 pm, Saturday, Nov 23, 2:30 PM-4:30 PM: Goats N’ Reindeer Games (Bradley Mountain Farm, Southington, CT)

Celebrate at Bradley Mountain Farm and enjoy a fun and silly holiday experience! You will feed the goats their “reindeer food,” and then will play farm reindeer games. Later, gather to hear a story by the fireplace. After the story, gather to make a holiday ornament that you can take home. Includes 1 bag of goat food per guest. Saturday Nov 23, 10 AM-2 PM: Open Farm Day (New Haven, CT)

Open Farm Day is FREE and does not require RSVP.

What can you do on Open Farm Day? Taste and explore in the learning garden, visit the friendly farm animals, make mud pies in the mud kitchen, drive a truck and dig in the sandbox, look for frogs at the wetland, play and build forts in the woods, and go for a self-guided hike on the Old Oak Nature Trail!

Saturday Nov 23, 10 AM-2 PM: Thanksgiving Cookie Decoration (Heirloom Market, Wethersfield, CT)

It’s Thanksgiving Cookie Decorating time! Join for some fun and delicious cookie decorating. All ages are welcome. There are regular as well as Gluten Free and Dairy Free options. No reservations needed, come anytime between 10 am and 2pm Saturday and Sunday or until they run out of cookies.

$5 per person (includes 2 cookies and frosting/decor) $7 per person for GF and Dairy Free options

Head to the library for a snowtastic morning of story, singing, games and fun with the Snow Sisters! Meet & greets to follow performance so bring your cameras! **Tickets will be given out to attend this event beginning at 9:30am in the Children’s Room the day of the show. Tickets may only be picked up for those present.

Saturdays, Nov 23-Dec 21, 6 PM-7:30 PM: Goats N’ Pajamas (Bradley Mountain Farm, Southington, CT) 

Come with your family to put the herd to bed, cuddle with your favorite goat, and experience pure silliness together. You will be brushing the goats, feeding them, and putting pajamas, tutus, and other costumes on the goats. . We will end the night with a goat cuddle session and feeding the whole herd hay as their Good Night snack. All ages are welcome! $15 p/ person

Saturday, Nov 23-Nov 27, 10 AM-6 PM: Thanksgiving Farm Shop (Sub edge Farm, Farmington, CT)

Take part in annual Thanksgiving Farm-Shop at Sub Edge Farm! There is a wonderful selection of victuals for your family’s feast, including winter squash, orange carrots, rainbow carrots, blue potatoes, red potatoes, russet potatoes, celeriac, leeks, kale, Brussels sprouts, lettuce, onions, daikon radishes, kohlrabi, Jerusalem artichokes, red beets, gold beets, Chioggia beets, purple top turnips, celery, parsnips and more! Also their own pasture raised eggs and local bread and cheese.

The farm will be open on Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving! Hours are 10-6.

Start your holiday shopping with nature-related gifts for all ages. Handmade crafts will include pottery, jewelry, soaps, felted ornaments, and more! Proceeds from this Friends of Roaring Brook fundraiser benefit the programs and activities at Roaring Brook Nature Center.
There is no charge to visit the Nature Center or to attend the Fair on this date.

Sundays, Nov 24, Dec 1, 8 & 15, 1 PM-3 PM: Cupcakes & Cocoa Family Parties (Lyman Allyn Art Museum, New London, CT)

Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon beginning with a hot chocolate bar and festive treats! After, kids and adults can find a zoo’s worth of animals in a Grand Menagerie themed I-Spy. Once the exploring is complete, everyone will head to the studio to sculpt their own exotic animals out of clay!
