Fun and Fitness for a Cause — Special Olympics Penguin Plunge CT! A great way to show your community support while helping others in need – physically, socially, and financially. Participating in a fundraiser together is a meaningful family activity, and exercising together is important fun to make time for!  So combining these two creates a terrific opportunity for your kids and family to make a difference in others’ lives as well as your own.

Are you ready to take the Plunge? Brave souls with warm hearts will run, jump and dive into water “Freezin’ for a Reason”!  The Penguin Plunge swimmers don only a swimsuit, and their courage – it is the largest grassroots fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut.  The Plunges take place in five locations throughout Connecticut at lakes and beaches across the state. The events take place throughout the winter season, from January through mid-March.  “Penguins” or “Plungers” solicit donations from family, friends and local businesses to “Take the Plunge.” Incentive prizes for different levels of money raised and awards will be given for creativity in a number of categories.
