Kids Helping Kids (KHK) members are almost ready to go back into the kitchen for Pumpkin Bread Baking Fundraiser. KHK has baked and sold over 6,000 pumpkin breads and through donations were able to hand deliver several hundred breads to people in need for Thanksgiving.
This year, they once again hope to outdo themselves by selling their beautifully presented nut-free pumpkin breads at $12 a loaf. All profits will go to fund future Kids Helping Kids projects. Breads will also be available for purchase at ShopRite of Commerce Park – 1990 W. Main Street, Stamford on November 16 – 17.
Kids Helping Kids members will bake, package and sell the breads—a collaboration with over 100 volunteers. The volunteers consist of middle and high school students from over 25 different schools. “I’ve participated in six bread bakes and it is my favorite KHK project,” says Jordan Benzaken, a senior at Westhill High. “We all have so much fun baking the hundreds and hundreds of loaves of bread and packaging them all in one crazy night. For me the annual bake represents the beginning of the holiday season and a chance to give something special to my community. The bread bake is also KHK’s biggest fundraising event so its success is very important to us.”
