There is something for everyone during TMSC’s Summer of STEM Adventures July 12-16! REGISTRATION IS OPEN! Students in grades K-8 get the chance to explore some (very) cool science, nature and technology – all on a one-of-a-kind mountaintop campus!
As an advocate for ‘STEAM’ (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) Talcott Mountain Science Center’s (TMSC) curriculum weaves together all aspects of education into an integrated hands-on learning experience. Inspirational lessons, state-of-the-art technology and real world applications are taught by a passionate and dedicated staff. The campus is made up of a series of buildings that take advantage of solar exposure to supplement our energy needs and are equipped with hands-on laboratories and the latest technologies, allowing us to teach with the very things we teach about. Learn about the facilities!

Actions, reactions, motion, momentum and roller coasters!
Grades K-3 LEGO Science From cars to catapults, from motors to Mars rovers, you can explore science and technology with LEGO®.
Compete in engineering challenges, build skyscrapers, crazy contraptions and dream machines!

Grades 4-8 Computers: Arduino Want to get under the hood of today’s electronics? Build circuits that can be used to power gadgets,
games, prosthetics and robots? You’ll use an Arduino project board, LEDs, sensors, motors and all the parts you need to
create cool stuff. Additional purchase of a SparkFun Arduino kit ($49) at registration.
Grades 4-8 Bioengineering Learn about the chemistry and physics that keeps you being you, find out how bones, muscles and prosthetics
work, 3D print skeleton parts, experiment with foods and exercise, and use some cool tech to check out your heart, lungs and
Grades 4-8 Genetics & Genomics Learn about what makes you, YOU! We will do DNA themed games and crafts, fruit DNA extractions,
