Music Classes Online for Kids

Willamette Valley Music Together is now offering Music Together® Online classes for families with children ages birth through seven. Parents with little ones can now experience the same high-quality music and movement curriculum taught at Willamette Valley Music Together since 2013—from the safety and comfort of their homes. According to Willamette Valley Music Together director, Wendy Reznicsek, “At this challenging time, we know that parents are looking for educational and fun activities for their children. Making music is something the whole family can enjoy doing together, and it naturally supports children’s development. Plus, music connects us like no other activity, and right now, we need that connection more than ever! With Music Together Online, families become part of a virtual music community. We sing, dance, and make music in our online classroom each week, and parents are inspired to extend the fun and learning throughout the week, supported by our family materials, bonus activities, and connections in our private family Facebook group.”
Like all Music Together classes, Music Together Online is designed to teach the way young children learn: through play. During each live online music class, teachers from Willamette Valley Music Together lead activities for the whole family to sing, dance, and jam along to and demonstrate how to make everyday items like dish towels, pots, and stuffies into musical props. Even though the teacher is on the screen, each class is an interactive music-making experience for young children and their grownups.
Enrolled families receive a songbook and a code to download the award-winning music through Music Together’s Hello Everybody app, plus an invitation to a private online community for Willamette Valley Music Together families. Enrolled parents and grandparents also have access to and are encouraged to use an original podcast Valley Music Minute created by Reznicsek just for them, and the whole school joins in our monthly Snuggletime Dance Party. Classes are appropriate for children under 8, but the entire family is welcome (and encouraged!) to participate in the musical fun.

• Mixed Ages (0-5y) meet Saturday, July 11 – August 29 at 10am
• Rhythm Kids (4-7y) meet Tuesday and Saturday, July 11 – August 1 at 11am
• Rhythm Kids (4-7y) meet Tuesday and Saturday, August 4 – 29 at 11am
