Live Exotic Wild Kingdom Returns to Connecticut

October 27, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$20 – $45

Wildlife Expert Peter Gros from the Original “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” Brings Exotic Animals to The Ridgefield Playhouse on October 27 – Two Shows!
Live Exotic Wild Kingdom Returns to Connecticut with wildlife expert Peter Gros from the original “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, October 27 at 1pm and 4pm.  Meet friendly exotic animals LIVE on stage! This show is dedicated to the memory of one of the original Wild Kingdom hosts, Jim Fowler, a Connecticut native who worked with the New Canaan Land Trust to permanently protect his property as a wildlife sanctuary and nature preserve.
In his popular live shows, Gros shares his wildlife adventures through a mix of storytelling and entertaining video clips and bloopers. As he introduces audiences of all ages to some of his exotic animal friends, he brings awareness to issues of conservation, travel and wildlife filming. Some of the many animals that have appeared with Peter Gros at past performances include a Eurasian eagle owl, an Australian kookaburra that sings with the audience, a 17-foot Burmese python named “Julius Squeezer” that the audience can help hold, a giant African crested porcupine, a lemur and much more! Gros is a frequent lecturer on conservation and preservation at universities, zoos, theaters and nature and science centers around the nation.
A Word About the Animals: The animal ambassadors appearing with Peter are licensed (both state and federal) and fully insured. The animals are hand raised on bottles or have been rescued so they are completely imprinted on people. When they’re not visiting theaters in fun filled educational presentations they’re visiting schools with students of all ages to help connect children to our natural world. The hand raised animal ambassadors associate people with food rewards and affection. In other words, they are spoiled. When a child sees these magnificent animals up close there’s an immediate connection and concern about wildlife and wild places.
For tickets: ($20-$45) call or visit the box office, 203-438-5795 or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org.  The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
