This year’s event has been organized by local activists, youth baseball and softball volunteers, students, youth groups, teachers, coaches as well as local elected officials. “We are proud to honor Roberto Clemente with our event, and to do our part to teach our young people about his courageous civil rights and human rights record,” says Eugenio Caro, one of the Memorial’s organizers.
