Family fun runs, walks, bike rides are a great way to show your community support while helping children and families in need – physically, socially, and financially! Participating in a fundraiser together is a meaningful family activity, and exercising together is important fun to make time for!  So combining these two creates a terrific opportunity for your kids and family to make a difference in others’ lives as well as your own.  What Monster Dash are you participating in?

Family Cause Events October WeekendsFlashback 5K is on for the second year at Mohegan Sun – when daylight savings time strikes and the hour disappears into thin air, perhaps you will have run, walked or crawled the fastest 5K of your life! Bring kids to the 1 Mile course so they love you for letting them stay up past their bedtimes! Together this year, we are fighting to alleviate domestic violence and addiction in our local community. 100% of the proceeds, after event expenses, are given directly to our carefully chosen local charities. You’ll want to mark in our your calendar as an annual event!

FunonFoot is a site dedicated to runs and walks for the whole family — this month you’ll find lots of fun Halloween-themed events like a pumpkin run and monster dash 🙂  Other “go to” sites are The Hartford Marathon Foundation which leads many family events for CT causes, or runningintheusa.com linking directly to list of family fun runs in CT, or jbsports.com a New England race management organizer.
