Peter and the Wolf Ballet for Kids

April 2, 2017, a family-friendly event, perfect for introducing live music and ballet to youngsters! New England Ballet Company and Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestra’s Symphony Orchestra (GBYO) will present Peter and the Wolf Ballet for Kids at the University of Bridgeport for the original choreographed dance production by New England Ballet Company (NEBC).  This will be the first time GBYO has performed for dancers and the first time NEBC has danced with live music.
The ballet features Prokofiev’s classic 1936 score, an opus written specifically to cultivate a love of advanced music in young children.  Both GBYO will present an additional musical piece and NEBC will present Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.
New England Ballet Company is dedicated to bringing children to the arts and arts to the children!
This pre-professional dance company is made up of both serious amateurs and dedicated professional dancers from many communities in Southwestern Connecticut. The Company performs for the public and in educational settings. Auditions for the Company are held end of August each year.
