Family Program: Holiday Poppers and Traditions

December 1, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Pop go the holidays! Bring the whole family to our annual popper program! Join us for some 19th-century holiday traditions of cards and crackers!
Invented in the 1840s, poppers (or crackers) “pop” open when pulled apart to reveal treats, goodies, and surprises inside.  These timeless holiday favorites make great gifts, party favors, or New Year’s Eve noisemakers. Kids and families can make their own custom poppers to take home. We’ll also have samples of 19th-century holiday and greeting cards available for kids and families to make their own old-fashioned holiday cards.
This program is free and open to the public, and great for children ages 4 and up. For more information, please contact Corinne Swanson at (860) 236-5621 x222 or email corinne_swanson@chs.org. Thanks to Berkshire Bank for their support of this program.
